- For the following circumstances, applicants are required to submit the applications in person in the Mainland Offices
- Replacement of passport which has been lost/damaged/defaced/is not available;
- Amendment of personal particulars in a passport; or
- Cross linking of passports.
- The Immigration Divisions of the Mainland Offices will conduct initial check on the submitted documents which will be forwarded to Travel Documents and Nationality (Application) Section of Immigration Department for processing.

Fee
- Applicants should pay the HKSAR passport fee and the additional charge for the delivery of the passport from the HKSAR to the Mainland offices
- For persons aged 16 or above (valid for 10 years): HK$370 (32 pages) / HK$460 (48 pages)
- For children aged under 16 (valid for 5 years): HK$185 (32 pages) / HK$230 (48 pages)
- Delivery by double registered air mail: HK$47
- Delivery to Mainland by express dispatch service: HK$145
- Applicants should pay the HKSAR passport fee and the additional charge for the delivery of the passport from the HKSAR to the Mainland offices

- To complete the processing of an application in 5 working days
- For applications not submitted in person, an extra two to three working days may be required.
- The time for despatching the prepared passport from HKSAR to the Immigration Divisions of the Mainland Offices is excluded from the processing time listed above.
- A Collection Notice specifying the period of collection and the office for collection of the new passport will then be sent to the applicant either by e-mail or by post according to the applicant’s choice.
- For applications submitted through the Internet:
- Applicants must collect their new passports in person. Selectable locations include the Mainland Offices.
- Upon collection, applicants must produce their Hong Kong permanent identity cards and the original supporting documents (if any) submitted in the application for verification, and their existing HKSAR Passports or HKSAR Document of Identity for Visa Purposes (if any) for cancellation.
